Mold Basics

If you live in Naperville, Oswego, Montgomery, Aurora, Plainfield, Yorkville, Sugar Grove or others, Go Above Board Environmental Inspection Dynamics or Above Board Indoor Environmental Consultants can help you with the following:

Some purported mold statements, empirical facts and known truths:

Statements Statements: “I’m thinking of buying an older home but I’m scared about the mold it might have”
“I’m buying a new home so I won’t have to worry about mold problems”.

Facts Facts: 1 - There is less chance of mold growth in older homes because they were built loose; if they
got wet, they dried out.
2 - New homes are built too tight. Moisture accumulates from initial construction, more is added
by its inhabitants.  When it cannot escape, mold growth begins.

Statements Truths: No Moisture-no Mold!
If it gets wet, it must be dried within 24-48 hrs.   It’s that simple!

Inspecting for mold and moisture damage problems can be quite elusive and complex.  This is why it starts with a [ survey ].  We cannot give you a quotation for our services without doing a comprehensive phone appraisal of your past and current situation.  This is done at no charge.  There are 3 primary damage factors in any structure, they are Moisture, Heat and UV light.   80% of all structure damage is due to moisture.  We investigate the prevalence and mode by which the moisture and subsequent mold are causing damage.
